Founded by Frank Kurka
Fieldwork grows out of Frank’s six decades of informal problem-solving, technical exploration and helping people work through ideas. Today, he is bringing that experience into a professional, AI-assisted consulting practice through InferenceDevices, Inc.
Frank is also building Fieldwork with AI assistance. That hands-on experience helps shape the service: learning what these tools do well, where they struggle and when human judgment makes the difference.
What matters to us
Understand the person behind the question. Explain uncertainty honestly. Treat private information carefully. Agree on the work and cost before proceeding. Keep the client in control.
AI-generated material needs judgment and review. We discuss what has been checked, what remains uncertain and what a useful next step might be.
The “third layer”
Between you and the many websites, applications and AI tools you use, we envision a layer of trusted assistance. You describe the outcome you want; a human consultant and AI help you navigate the steps, check the result and understand how to keep it working.
This is a direction we’re developing toward. We begin with our own everyday work, learning from real tasks before extending reliable procedures to clients. Today, available help is discussed and scoped individually; Fieldwork does not automatically control all your websites or devices.
Our aim is practical digital advocacy: someone who understands your interests and helps you act on them, while you retain ownership of your accounts and control over decisions.
